Fanless CPU Heatsink System

 

  • Open the HDPLEX heatsink system box set. Each set contains six heatpipes (#1-#6), one copper base plate, one aluminum top plate, and one accessory pack (Type A-H).

B: Screw (4) to attach aluminum plate to copper base plate
C: Rack (2) for AM2/AM3 socket
D: Rack (2) for LGA775/LGA1156 socket
E: Washer (4) with double-sided tape
F: Screw (4) to attach rack to copper base plate
G: Screw (4) to attach rack to the bottom screw placeholder
H: Bottom screw placeholder (4)

 

Check to see that all accessory items are available before beginning assembly.
You will also need thermal paste.

  • Peel white cover from one side of washer (E) and paste it onto one bottom screw placeholder (H). Peel the white cover on the other side of the washer and paste it onto the heatsink screw hole around the motherboard socket from the back. Repeat for three additional holes.

  • For AM2/AM3 socket, first remove the heatsink placeholder coming with the motherboard.

  • Remove the protective cover from the copper base plate and install the rack onto the copper base plate using screw (F). For LGA775/1156 socket, install rack (D), and for AM2/AM3, rack (C).

  • Install CPU to the motherboard.

  • Apply a very thin layer of thermal paste onto the CPU top and copper base bottom plate. PLEASE DO NOT overuse the thermal paste since the heat conductivity is always the best with close metal contact.

  • Install the copper base plate onto the motherboard. Tighten the four screws evenly.

  • Install I/O shield plate on the chassis back plate and motherboard on the chassis bottom plate.

  • Apply a thin layer of thermal paste onto each groove, both on the copper base plate and on the chassis side panel with fin. Again, don't overuse the thermal paste.

  • The three grooves on the side panel are manufactured to tightly fit the heatpipe; increase the contact surface between the heatpipe and raw aluminum groove as much as poosible for best heat transfer. It will be very difficult to push the whole heatpipe into the groove at once. The best way is to first push the tip of the heatpipe into the groove and gradually push the rest heatpipe in place. The whole heatpipe should be buried in the groove once installed. See below pictures:

    • Install heatpipes #1 and #2.

    • For LGA775 and LGA1156 socket, install heatpipes #3 and #4.

    • For AM2/AM3 socket, install heatpipes #3 and #5. Only four heatpipes (#1,#2,#3, and #5) will be utilized.

    • For LGA775 and LGA1156 socket. Install heatpipes #5 and #6

    • Take out the metal plate package. Each H10 series chassis comes with four plates (H5/H3 series comes with 3) and each plate comes with four M3x12 screws. The screws will attach the metal plate against the chassis side panel from outside.

    • The chassis side panel has extra holes, which allow you to adjust and choose the best spot to install the metal plate.

    • Install the metal plate onto the chassis side panel.

    • Apply a thin layer of thermal paste on each groove on the aluminum top plate and install the aluminum top plate onto the copper base plate using screw B.
